Avengers: Endgame approaching $ 800 million in the US

Marvel blockbusters were soon identified as the second highest-grossing film after “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”.

Over the weekend, Avengers: Endgame ranked third in the US, earning $ 16.8 million, down only 43.8% from the previous week (usually movies reduce about 50% of weekly sales). In the US, the work is currently at $ 798 million, just after Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($ 936 million, 2015).

Globally, the fourth part of Avengers currently has $ 2.67 billion. Outside of the US, the largest contributor is China (610 million USD), Britain (108 million USD), South Korea (101 million USD) and Brazil (79 million USD).

The work lacks $ 111 million to beat Avatar, making it the best-selling film of all time. However, the slow pace of ticket sales for Marvel blockbusters made many experts unsure whether the film would achieve this feat. Business Insider commented that the summer film set began to land, interest in Avengers: Endgame is declining.

Last week, Disney’s Aladdin took the lead in the US with $ 86 million. Box Office Mojo identified this as a new success of the company this year, after two Captain Marvel movies and Avengers: Endgame.

The work is based on the ancient story in One Thousand and One Nights, telling the story of the boy Aladdin (Mena Massoud) who found a god lamp, was given the light Genie (Will Smith) gave three wishes.

He must fight the witch Jafar (Marwan Kenzari) to save Princess Jasmine (Naomi Scott). 58% of critics rated the work on Rotten Tomatoes, most of which complimented Will Smith.

Second in America is John Wick 3 with 24 million USD. The 18+ action movie starring Keanu Reeves is considered a box office phenomenon this summer. With a budget of less than 100 million USD, the work has collected 175 million USD and is expected to make a big profit for the studio.
