Barca targets Rashford instead of Griezmann
Spanish press said that the Nou Camp team saw Man Utd striker as plan B in this transfer.
Barca wants to find a long-term alternative for Luis Suarez – a 32-year-old player. They see Antonie Griezmann and Neymar as the top targets this summer. However, because of the process of negotiating with the two players in trouble, the Catalonia team may have to find another goal.
According to Spanish press, Barca are following Marcus Rashford – a new player to score in a 1-3 England defeat to the Netherlands in the Nations League. However, Rashford’s ability to leave Man Utd is quite low because he is a product of the club training facility and is part of a long-term plan of coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Rashford scored 13 goals in 47 matches in all competitions last season. The striker born in 1997 with his team went through a disappointing season when Man Utd was only sixth in the Premier League and eliminated in other arenas. That requires Solskjaer to have a major reform this summer and he probably doesn’t want to lose Rashford.
Griezmann is considered almost certain to Barca after the French striker announced his farewell to Atletico. However, this ability is shaken after the news that Barca’s main players do not want the club to recruit Griezmann. If this situation cannot be solved, the Nou Camp team will hardly persuade Griezmann to move. Meanwhile, Neymar is still rumored to leave PSG after the defeat of the French club in the Champions League and the “old roof” of the Nou Camp may be his choice.
